Edinburgh B Corp 500

Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Edinburgh CAN B manages the Edinburgh B Corp 500 programme. Our goal is ambitious yet attainable: to assist 500 local businesses in their journey towards achieving B Corp certification by 2030.

The Edinburgh B Corp 500 programme helps businesses understand and improve their social, environmental and governance performance while progressing towards B Corp certification. It combines practical workshops, peer learning and expert support to help businesses navigate the new B Corp standards and make meaningful progress towards certification.

What are the benefits of becoming a B Corp?

A B Corp is a business independently verified by B Lab. It is a sign of recognition that your business is committed to social and environmental responsibility.

There are many benefits of becoming a certified B Corp, the B Corp framework helps businesses identify impacts, risks and opportunities, strengthening resilience and readiness for changing customer, investor and procurement expectations. Other benefits include; enhances credibility and trust with customers, partners, and stakeholders, increases competitive advantage, and demonstrates your commitment to prioritising social and environmental impacts.

How to start your B Corp journey:

  • Attend our event on 25th August. Hear more about B Corp certification, the process and hear from local B Corps we have supported
  • Apply to join the next cohort of local businesses
  • Participate in 3 half day workshops diving into the 7 core impact topics and work directly on completing your B Impact Assessment during the workshops
  • Get one-on-one support from a B Corp Consultant to progress through the B Corp standards and build evidence towards certification
  • Have individual check ins between the cohort workshops
  • Get tailored gap analysis
  • Have one hour consultation after the workshops
  • Join online cohort community

Our fully funded training and support cohort programme will help you achieve B Corp certification. Through the workshops and individual tailored support from qualified B Corp Consultants you’ll navigate the B Impact Assessment tool and work towards achieving certification. We are looking for 10 dedicated businesses ready to invest time and resources into this transformative journey.

The cohort is aimed primarily at small businesses, typically with 3-49 employees and who are based in Edinburgh. Any businesses interested in joining the cohort will need to complete an application form as part of the application process. Deadline for applications is 15th September
