Space Solutions has been appointed as the lead consultant to a package of works issued in a tender by Heriot Watt University. The project is to deliver a space utilisation programme worth £17.5M over a four year period.

Space Solutions, a recognised expert that specialises in the design and delivery of commercial environments, led the joint submission for the project with engineering firm Harley Haddow.

The University has identified a series of projects to address the inefficiencies currently experienced within its space allocation. The contract provides for Project Management & Design Team Services for the Learning & Teaching and Workspace provision within the Space Optimisation Programme.

Studio Director Gordon Roy said “It is fantastic to have been successful in the winning of a project that will have such a significant benefit to the University in delivering an environment that nurtures innovation and leadership: helping their staff and students to realise their potential and develop their ambitions.”

“We have had significant experience in working with the Education sector and are pleased that we can bring our unique collection of consultative, design and delivery services to such a project.
Work is expected to commence early 2016.
