Space – Great Place, Great Community, Great Cause.

Posted: 6th April 2022

Space and the Broomhouse Hub exists to support the people of Edinburgh to thrive. Over the last few years, they have gone through a period of accelerated growth, resulting in reorganisation having recently enlisted a new CEO, as well as welcoming new Trustees to the Board. As they continue to grow and adapt, this incredible charity has developed three new positions designed to strengthen Space’s ability to give the Edinburgh community the confidence they need to live happier, more fulfilled lives.

The services offered at Space include a community café with outside catering including a pizza business, training and employment, young persons’ counselling, mental health & wellbeing support for all ages, carers support, befriending for youths and older people, a dementia day-care service the Beacon Club and Vintage Vibes which is run in partnership with LifeCare. The services are delivered in Broomhouse, across South West Edinburgh and city-wide.

None of this would be possible without funding, which is why Space is now seeking a new Relationship and Fundraising Manager whose key objective will be to build and maintain high-quality relationships to increase income, allowing this brilliant charity team to continue their amazing work.

Working with the Fundraising Manager will be the Head of Finance and Support Services. This unique position will make up part of the senior management team, focussing on the financial stability of the charity and leading on the support services strategy, helping secure resources for the growth and improvement required to deliver Space’s strategic objectives, now and in the future.

Finally, Space is also seeking a new Head of Enterprise, a role that is largely focused on setting and delivering on commercial objectives and generating income through training and sustainable social enterprises.
