Senior Appointment at Interserve to drive forward tHe Haymarket

Posted: 15th June 2017

Interserve Developments has announced the appointment of Robin Blacklock as Development Director to the £200million tHe Haymarket project in Edinburgh’s City Centre.

At the cutting edge of the Edinburgh property scene for twenty years, Robin brings a wealth of experience and industry knowledge. He joins Interserve Developments from Grosvenor Group where he was Planning and Development Director for 8 years, having previously held positions within Savills and CBRE.

His new role at Interserve Developments will see Robin join Edinburgh Haymarket Developments Limited (EHDL), a joint venture with Tiger Developments, on the project as a key representative. The project will see the four-acre site transformed into a vibrant space incorporating landmark offices, hotels, leisure and retail space along with a new pedestrian pathway linking Haymarket to Morrison Street. Robin will also oversee the marketing of the development which will dramatically change the western gateway to the City Centre.

Speaking about Robin’s appointment, Chris Field, EHDL and Interserve Director said: “Robin’s addition to the team demonstrates our strong and continuing commitment to tHe Haymarket Edinburgh. This is an important and exciting time for the project. Significant progress has already been made on the site, including extensive works to the rail tunnels and the removal of over 100,000 tonnes of earth from site. The project is now shovel-ready and Robin’s appointment will now drive it forward.”

Robin added: “tHe Haymarket is the best development site in Edinburgh and one of the leading development opportunities outside London. I am joining at a very exciting time and I’m proud to be associated with such a prestigious project.”

With full planning consent in place, tHe Haymarket Edinburgh will proceed with the next phase of the much-needed, high-end, mixed-use space that will bring significant economic benefit to the capital.
