For the first time, next year’s Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open will tee off in East Lothian. Many of the world’s greatest golfers will descend on Scotland’s Golf Coast, East Lothian, from July 9th to 12th 2015.

Current world number one Rory McIlroy is expected to use the event to prepare for his defence of the Claret Jug at St Andrews the following week – a policy which has paid off for the previous four winners of the Open Championship, with McIlroy, Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Darren Clarke all having competed at the Scottish Open the week before being crowned Champion Golfer of the year.

Local firm appointed as corporate hospitality provider by European Tour for 23rd year in a row

But while its move to the historic Gullane Golf Club might be breaking new ground for the 43-year-old tournament, the European Tour has for the 23rd year running appointed locally based international corporate hospitality specialist MatchPoint as official agent for the Scottish Open.

The international hospitality experts MatchPoint, with offices in Edinburgh, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Melbourne and Sydney, will once again bring their global event experience and intimate local market knowledge to Scottish golf’s blue-riband event, offering corporate hospitality packages to businesses around the country.

The Scottish Open, one of the best supported tournaments on the European Tour, is expected to provide a multi-million pound boost to the local economy, with global television exposure for the region and golf fans from around the world flocking to East Lothian to watch one of the Tour’s most prestigious competitions played at the 132-year-old Gullane Golf Club.

It will be the perfect occasion for businesses to host clients, customers or staff, and the official hospitality programme will be offering a range of packages guaranteed to impress.

Headquartered in Edinburgh, MatchPoint’s local expertise marries up with its strong presence throughout the UK and beyond, and is perfectly positioned to attract and cater for businesses far and wide. With a client list including the likes of the Scottish Rugby Union, the Sydney Cricket Ground, the AFC Asian Cup, and the R&A it is little surprise that the European Tour has chosen to once again extend its two-decade relationship with MatchPoint.

MatchPoint Group Managing Director Neil Cunningham said: we are delighted to be working with the European Tour once again, and are excited for East Lothian to be hosting this prestigious tournament as well as the business benefits and commercial opportunity it will bring to the region.
