Register for the Santander Universities Employability Scheme

Posted: 14th March 2023

The Santander Universities Employability Scheme is back this year with some interesting changes as we can now offer the funding to charities as well as SMEs and other organisations. The funding remains “up to £1000” per project/intern.

This is how the programme will work this year:

  • 1.Register your organisation with QMU vacancy portal. This is a prerequisite that will enable you to submit your application. Here is the link https://employers.studentcentral.qmu.ac.uk/. If you are registered already but want to add someone else as a contact please use that option to avoid duplications.
  • 2.Complete the application form. You will need information about the opportunity and job description. Priority will be given to opportunities that include specific projects for students in addition of other duties that you may want to include. Here is the link https://studentcentral.qmu.ac.uk/employers/form.aspx?id=107137
  • 3.We will review forms every second week. When your form is approved, we will give you access to some of the registered students who are looking for an internship this year. You can either interview one or several of them or invite some of them to the interview alongside other candidates if you prefer to advertise the internship to all QMU students and recent graduates.
  • 5.All funding must be allocated by September 2023.

We hope to include a variety of opportunities this year that cater for our diverse student population including Sociology, Psychology, Nutrition, Film/Media, Drama/Theatre/Arts, Education, OT, Sustainability, Leadership/Management etc…. in addition to Business Management, Finance, Marketing/PR, Events Management or Tourism.

If you would like to discuss your application/project or have any questions, I have allocated 15-30 minutes consultations with organisations/employers on MS Teams or on campus at the Employability Centre on Wednesdays from 10.30 to 12.30 in March. Please let me know if you would like to set up a meeting:

We look forward to having you in the programme.
