Record-Breaking Year for Tynecastle Park’s Conference & Events Team

Posted: 29th May 2019

Tynecastle Park’s conference and events team have had a record-breaking year, delivering a non-match day turnover of more than one million pounds from one of Edinburgh’s unique landmark sporting venues.

Over the last 5 years, since bringing the hospitality and catering team in-house, Tynecastle Park has emerged as one of Scotland’s leading event venues.

The new main stand development has brought online a number of new, flexible and modern function suites, which have proven to be hugely popular for corporate events, conferences, and celebrations of all types, both large and small.

Fantastic new facilities have proven a firm hit with those looking for a venue that can offer so much more than a standard event space.  Tynecastle Park’s fantastic new stand allows us to offer lots of extras, including stadium tours, lunches/events/meetings in our amazing museum, kiosk lunches in the stand or even the use of the first team changing rooms for meetings.  We aim to make every event memorable.

Our facilities continue to expand, with the much-anticipated Skyline Lounge opening for business in June 2019.  The Skyline boasts a full glass frontage, an extensive roof terrace and state of the art audio visual equipment, designed in partnership with James-Morrow Entertainment Systems.  Bookings are already coming in for this new suite, the standard of which will enable us to deliver an exceptional client experience.  This is a “must consider” option for a spectacular wedding venue in the Edinburgh area.

Underpinning these fantastic facilities is our in-house team, whose success has seen them being awarded contracts for managing and catering other venues across the City, including Myreside Pavilion and Turnhouse Golf Course.  The team has been nominated across no fewer than six categories in the 2019 Stadium Experience Event & Hospitality Awards, with winners being announced at a glittering ceremony being held at Manchester City Football Club in June.

With non-match day sales set to generate in excess of £1.1 million in the financial year ending June, 2019 (nearly 40% year-on-year growth), Graeme Pacitti, Head of Hospitality & Catering, comments: “We have had a very strong 2018/2019.  Our award-winning hospitality and catering team have gained a reputation for excellent service standards, which has seen us win not only repeat business but also a large number of new clients.  All of the team have had a part to play in our exceptional business growth, built on an ethos of continuously striving to deliver beyond client expectations.”

A testament to the new found status of Tynecastle Park as one of Scotland’s leading venues was the announcement that Tynecastle Park had been chosen as the host venue for the prestigious opening concert of the Edinburgh International Festival 2019.  In August, the LA Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Gustavo Dudamel will bring the glamour of Hollywood Film scores to Tynecastle Park for an epic opening to the 2019 EIF programme.
