Posted: 6th November 2014

Capital Document SolutionsOffice equipment specialist Capital Document Solutions has achieved record monthly sales of £2.4m.

Scotland’s largest independent supplier, Capital expects to record turnover of £24m for its March 2015 year-end. The business, which has operations in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness and Shetland, is targeting turnover of more than £30m by the end of 2016.

Capital has announced today it has achieved a record monthly sales figure of £2.4m – including new business worth £639,000.

These latest equipment contract wins will see Capital install 247 new multifunctional devices (MFDs) and print management software to businesses and organisations across the Scottish private and public sectors.

Additional service provision, including comprehensive national maintenance and training support, will add significantly to the value of these agreements over the next five years.

The business, which currently employs 205 staff across the country, is looking to add a further 20 people over the next 12 months to meet the growing demand for its products and services.

Tom Flockhart, founder and managing director of Capital Document Solutions, said: “The company has benefited from a high level of major contract wins for some time now which reflects the strength and depth of our product range and our reputation for delivering a very high level of customer service and support.

“We firmly believe that our knowledgeable and experienced team’s commitment to providing first-class customer service has been pivotal in the company’s ability to attract and retain leading businesses and public sector organisations.

“Our truly national sales and service cover and branch network across Scotland has enabled us to win many major public and commercial contracts and significantly grow our customer and machine base.

“The suite of products, combined with industry-leading print management software, offered by Capital can help clients significantly reduce the number of devices deployed for copy, print, scan and fax, control the output of their devices and achieve significant savings in operating costs, along with a reduction in their carbon footprint.”

The record monthly sales figures were for September. Capital provides photocopiers, printers, scanners and print management software with comprehensive national maintenance and training support.

It has won contracts with large organisations and businesses ranging from government bodies, local authorities, oil and gas companies, the voluntary sector and a wide spread of universities, colleges and independent schools.

In 2013, Capital acquired Inverness-based Highland Office Equipment and was re-appointed as a successful supplier on the Scottish Government’s National Framework Agreement for Office Equipment.
