Pentland Medical announced today the launch of online forum, Healthcare-Arena, in a bid to meet demand for a new voice in the healthcare sector.

Healthcare-Arena is aimed at people working in the healthcare sector including professionals, researchers, students and managers.  Topics covered include healthcare, research, NHS and government reports, technical and clinical issues, delivered with a dash of humour.

Stewart Munro, founder of Healthcare-Arena and managing director of Pentland Medical said: “The idea for this forum comes from my own experiences of attending medical conferences over many years.

“I’ve often been impressed by the level of co-operation and discussion between healthcare professionals needed to advance ideas, improve clinical practice and highlight studies and developments.

“I would like to see Healthcare-Arena develop into an extension of the conference environment online.”

“Healthcare Arena will have a whistle-blowing element. I feel the NHS has suffered from Government neglect over the years, too often it is being treated as a problem not an asset” Munro said.

Prior to launching Healthcare-Arena, Stewart Munro, worked as a medical sales professional for almost 30 years and is currently managing director of medical supplies company, Pentland Medical .

The forum plans to deliver thought provoking insights on hot-topics, issues, and products in the coming months as Munro continues:  “Our aim is to help healthcare professionals be better informed about their industry, entertained by the profession and become curious about who is doing what and how.”

Healthcare-Arena is aimed individuals working in the healthcare sector.  With the NHS alone employing in excess of 1.5 million people in the UK; and many more employed in private and associated medical professions, the potential audience for Healthcare Arena is vast.
