New BSG Hub puts COSHH assessments and  method statements at SELECT Members’ fingertips

Posted: 25th February 2020

Members of SELECT, Scotland’s largest trade association, can now carry out online COSHH assessments and method statements quickly and easily thanks to its ongoing partnership with the Building Safety Group (BSG).

As well as the expanded risk assessment and method statements (RAMS) offering, SELECT Members can now access a dedicated health and safety technical support lineplus more than 200 online health and safety documents, including Model Health & Safety Policy and Model Fire Risk Assessments.

The increased range of services are on a new web-based facility, which has been branded the ‘BSG Hub’.

Dave Forrester, Director of Technical Services at SELECT, said: “This new Hub is another fantastic tool from BSG and offers even more ways to help our Members.

“If they haven’t done so already, we would recommend Members everywhere to sign up to the Hub and take advantage of its many benefits. It’s easy to use and flexible enough to be used across a wide range of different projects and scenarios.”

John Puck, Membership Development Officer at BSG, said: “The new Hub provides companies with a one-stop-shop where they can access a variety of functionality from just one screen.

“In addition to the RAMS, technical support and health and safety advice, the new Hub also offers a wealth of information from BSG, including newsletters, HSE Blitz Notices, safety alerts and new legislation updates.

“It also features a list of our construction design and management (CDM) services to help companies fulfil their legal requirements.”

The new software follows the success of BSG’s popular online risk assessments, which are now used by more than 100 SELECT Member businesses

More than 80 different types of assessments are available – including electrical tasks first and second fix and test and commissioning – with each template pre-configured with its own set of unique control measures relevant to the hazard being assessed.

Using the simple-to-use templates means professionals can complete online assessments quickly and easily, helping their business remain compliant with HSE regulations.

SELECT Members can also access BSG’s health and safety telephone advice support centre five days a week for expert advice and support.
