More seats for rugby fans this Saturday

Posted: 8th November 2018

ScotRail will provide more seats for rugby fans travelling to Scotland’s Autumn Test match at Edinburgh’s BT Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday (November 10).

Scotland will play Fiji at 2:30pm and additional carriages are being added to multiple services, including those between Edinburgh and Glasgow; Aberdeen; Dundee; Tweedbank; Glenrothes, and Dunblane.

Trains to and from Edinburgh will be extremely busy. Supporters heading to the games are advised to allow additional time for travel, as queuing systems will be in place at Glasgow Queen Street before the match and at Haymarket after the final whistle.

Extra staff will be on hand to assist customers and, as with most large events, alcohol bans will be in force.

ScotRail Head of Customer Operations Phil Campbell said:

“The Autumn Tests are very popular and we have done everything we can to boost the number of seats on key routes in and out of Edinburgh.

“Our services will be very busy so people should plan their journeys in advance, check train times regularly, and make sure they have a ticket before travel.”
