ScotRail is adding more seats for fans travelling to Edinburgh to cheer on Scotland in the Six Nations this weekend.

Scotland take on Wales in their final home match of the campaign at the BT Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday 9 March at 2.15pm.

ScotRail has confirmed it will add more seats on key routes to and from the capital city throughout the day. This includes:

• Fife Circle (Glenrothes with Thornton / Cowdenbeath)
• Dundee and Perth
• North Berwick
• Tweedbank
• Glasgow Central (via Shotts)
• Helensburgh and Milngavie (via Bathgate and Glasgow Queen Street low level)

All trains between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh via Falkirk High are now operated by brand-new seven carriage Class 385s.

However, trains to and from Edinburgh are expected to be very busy. Supporters heading to the game are advised to allow extra time for travel, as queuing systems may be in place before the match, and at Haymarket after the final whistle.

As with most large events, alcohol bans will be in force.

ScotRail Head of Customer Operations Phil Campbell said: “We’re looking forward to helping fans travel to the final home fixture of this year’s Six Nations.

“More seats will be added to key services in and out of Edinburgh to help the day run smoothly.

“Every available train will be used to help you get where you need to be, but please allow more time for travel as trains will be busy. Buying your tickets in advance will reduce your need to queue.”
