More than 1600 new homes to be built from new planned developments supporting almost 7,000 jobs

Leading UK housebuilder, Miller Homes is today (7 February 2018) announcing 14 new developments across central Scotland, amounting to a total of 1689 new homes and supporting approximately 6700 jobs*.

The developments are located from as far north as Dundee, and span across Glasgow and the West and Edinburgh and the Lothians. The company’s first new development of the year, Bothwellbank, launched earlier this month in the upmarket South Lanarkshire town of Bothwell, bringing a selection of 15 premium, bespoke properties to the market. A further 84 family homes will follow at the development, later in the year.

Also in South Lanarkshire plans are in place for a new development in Bellshill, creating 65 new homes in the town later in the year.

In Moodiesburn, a large new development of 182 homes is scheduled to launch in Spring/Summer and in Paisley work will begin on 234 new properties at Miller Homes’ Hawkhead development in the coming months.

The company will also launch its first ever development in Clydebank in Glasgow. A former brownfield site, Braidfields will be a new community of 88 three and four bedroom properties, bringing much needed family homes to the area. On the outskirts of Glasgow, Miller Homes will also build 60 new homes at Maidenhill in Newton Mearns, a brand-new neighbourhood surrounded by green space.

Extensions at two of Miller Homes’ existing communities are also underway, with 134 homes planned at Ellismuir Park, phase two of the company’s Keepers Gate at Ellismuir development near Baillieston, and 100 new homes at the second phase of its popular Wallace Fields community in Robroyston.

To the East, Miller Homes is bringing 57 new homes to Dundee on the former site of Liff Hospital and its substantial new community of 185 homes at Dover Heights in Dunfermline marks the final stages of the Dunfermline Expansion Scheme. The home builder’s first development in Dunblane is also scheduled to be unveiled in 2019 with 77 new homes planned for the sought after town.

Just outside Edinburgh, the company is also building 80 new homes at Calderwood, a village between East Calder and Kirknewton and bordered by beautiful farmland. In addition, Edgelaw will provide 165 new homes in Edinburgh and a development of 117 flats and townhouses in Leith is also in the pipeline.

Miller Homes has 204 employees across Scotland, operating from two offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow and currently has 19 developments across the central belt.
