Miller Homes announces key land acquisitions across the East of Scotland

Posted: 11th November 2021

526 new homes to be built in areas on the east coast and central belt

Miller Homes, one of Scotland’s leading homebuilders, has secured the purchase of land at multiple locations across the East of Scotland, bringing 526 much-needed new homes to popular towns and communities.

The homebuilder which, for over 85 years has helped build and bolster communities across the central belt, will now begin work on new developments at Winton View in Tranent, Carberry Grange in Whitecraig, Station Brae in Maddiston, Victoria Wynd in Kirkcaldy and Calderwood in East Calder.

These new developments will feature homes in a range of styles and sizes, meeting the needs of people moving to already vibrant communities or local people who are looking to either up or downsize and, in the case of Calderwood, delivers a second phase of the development from Miller Homes.

The Winton View development will feature 99 three-to-five-bedroom homes and Carberry Grange will include 187 three-to-five-bedroom properties, plus 63 affordable homes. Station Brae will comprise of 72 terraced, semi-detached, and detached homes and 24 affordable homes, while Victoria Wynd will include 105 three and four-bedroom homes.

The award-winning homebuilder, which was founded and has its head office in Edinburgh, will deliver energy efficient homes, while working considerately with the natural environment, local people, customers and colleagues.

As homebuyer’s priorities have changed with increased demand for flexible living, home working areas and outdoor space, Miller Homes recently adapted its homes to ensure they effectively meet the needs of today’s buyers and their lifestyles and each of the new developments will feature the updated product portfolio. All new Miller homes are built in-line with modern building regulations, which mean they are extremely energy efficient compared to older properties, with the homebuilder also fitting homes with energy efficient appliances, water efficient sanitary ware and low energy or LED lighting.

David Morgan, Land Director at Miller Homes, says: “These are key acquisitions, meeting the needs of local people and communities which are growing and thriving. They are all in prime locations, within reach of cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow, and will provide high quality homes for families of all sizes.

“Current demand for new homes in these areas is incredibly high and we look forward to playing our part in what is, for many, a significant new chapter in the stories of their local communities.
