SP Energy Networks own and operate the electricity transmission and distribution network across Central and Southern Scotland as well as Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales. We operate 24/7, 365 days of the year delivering power to 3.5m homes and businesses.
We do this through our network of overhead lines and underground cables. We operate across three of the UK’s largest cities (Edinburgh, Glasgow and Liverpool) employing a workforce of just under 3,000 stafff deployed within engineering, field operations, technical specialists, customer service and support roles, all of whom are based across the communities that we serve and who support the deliver of our annual network investment program. To replace our entire network today would require an investment in excess of £18bn.
