Marks and Clerk Have Teamed Up with Burness Paull and the Scottish AI Alliance to Host a Series of In-Person Events Across Scotland

Posted: 10th October 2022

Marks & Clerk are proud to present the AI, IP and You: Real-World Protection for Artificial Intelligence Innovation seminars, hosted across Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow.

  • Edinburgh Bayes Centre, 26th October 3-5pm, Guest speaker Magnus Wahrenberg from client company Canon Medical.
  • Aberdeen ONE Tech Hub, 2nd November 3-5pm, Guest speaker Chris Blake, from client company IMRANDD.
  • Glasgow TIC, 9th November 3-5pm, guest speaker TBC.

Innovation in AI is breaking through into mainstream applications as never before. No longer limited to AI specialists, innovation can be found across a wide range of applications, including the medical, energy and manufacturing sectors, amongst many others. Such innovation requires insight, expertise and investment to produce but, once released, may be easy for competitors to copy.

To discuss how the intellectual property system, including patents and copyright, can be used to help retain control of AI innovations in the real world, Graham McGlashan, Partner at Marks & Clerk, will be joined by Callum Sinclair, partner and Head of Technology and Commercial at Burness Paull.

In Edinburgh, Graham and Callum will be joined by Magnus Wahrenberg from Canon Medical. Involved in both innovation development and the IP process, Magnus will give a client perspective of how he has protected innovation using IP.
