Posted: 15th June 2020

Lewis Capaldi, Calvin Harris, Texas and Dolly Parton were today (Monday 15th June 2020) revealed as part of the line-up for Hits Live Fest which will broadcast across Clyde 1, Clyde 2 and Country Hits Radio on Saturday 20th June 2020.

They will be joined by One Direction, David Bowie and Taylor Swift on the three stages which will bring the biggest hits, greatest hits and country hits to listeners across the country from 1pm.

Victoria Easton-Riley, Content Director, Hits Radio Network and Greatest Hits Radio in Scotland, explained the thinking behind the Hits Live Fest. She said: “This has been a challenging time for everyone and for music fans COVID-19 has meant the cancellation or postponement of all the festivals from TRNSMT, Rewind Scotland through to Country to Country.

“Our radio stations decided that we want to create our own festival playing some of the biggest live performances from current artists, the greatest hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s and the country hits that fill the dance floor.”

“We are proud to be sharing over 12 hours of live performances from a range of artists including some of the best of our archive sessions from Queen as well as Paulo Nutini and Wet, Wet, Wet.

  • The Biggest Hits Stage – presented by Greigsy and Garry Spence – will include Lewis Capaldi from the Champs Elysees; Calvin Harris at the Apple Music Festival and Little Mix live at The Brits as well as Coldplay in Buenos Aires and Paulo Nutini at Rockness.
  • Ewen Cameron and Micky Gavin will host the Greatest Hits Stage with a guest appearance from Janice Long. The acts will include David Bowie from 1976 in New York; Queen at Live Aid in 1985 as well as Wet, Wet, Wet from 2007 and Texas at King Tut’s in 2005.
  • The Country Hits Stage – presented by Baylen Leonard and Naomi Kent – will feature Dolly Parton from the 02 Arena in 2011; Taylor Swift in San Francisco in 2011 and Keith Urban from his 2018 World Tour.
