Invitation to The Reserves Experience.

Posted: 2nd October 2015

The Reserves Experience invites you to  a series of events designed to inform managers and their staff about the Armed Forces Reserves and the personal development training that members of our Armed Forces Reserves can gain.

These events, which were originally designed for Civil Servants have, by popular demand, been opened up to other public bodies, local authorities and supportive employers in the business world offering, as well as an insight into life as a Reservist, the opportunity of gaining some personal development and teambuilding benefits at no cost. If your organization embraces the positive commercial advantages of encouraging leadership, teamwork and communication, why not get involved?

The Reserves Experience is an exciting event designed to provide participants with a light-hearted taste of life in the Armed Forces Reserves and a snapshot of the training in transferrable skills that Reservists acquire – all crammed into 90 minutes! Each session includes a short explanation of opportunities in the Reserves, followed by familiarization with military weapons clothing and equipment. Participants are then divided into small groups where they’ll be faced with three practical team challenges in which they have to work together to solve problems and achieve the aim. Each task is designed to draw out lessons about leadership, teamwork, and communications, and is run by members of the Royal Navy, Army or Royal Air Force.

The aim is that by the end of the event, people who perhaps didn’t know each other at the start will have begun to get acquainted as they work together to solve problems, while gaining knowledge and understand a little more about our Armed Forces Reserves. They will also learn something about themselves.

The Armed Forces in Scotland are running two Reserve Experience events, with places now available through the following Eventbrite links:
