IME Property targets Glasgow and Fife in 2016

Posted: 21st December 2015

Edinburgh’s newest independent commercial property agency is to scale up its activities in 2016 with Glasgow and Fife both identified as strong areas for strategic growth.

The firm’s first foray into the Glasgow office market will be on Clydesdale Business Park to the west of the city where it has been appointed as joint agent at Erskine House; a 20,000 sq ft former Forestry Commission building.

It is also set to market Rannoch House in Dunfermline, a 6,000 sq ft Victorian villa, which has recently received planning consent for a change of use to a 90-place children’s nursery.

IME Property managing director, Iain Mercer, is in no doubt IME’s strong brand and online presence will be accepted out with the Edinburgh market: “Our client’s properties are being found by people from all over the UK and our team is excelling in converting these leads into deals,” said Mr Mercer.

The firm sweeps into 2016 off the back of a flurry of transactions including the purchase of 14-16 Holyrood Road, a 19th century grade C-listed building, on behalf of a private client for a sum in excess of £600,000 .

It has also let 172 High Street in Dalkeith to the UK’s largest funeral business, Co-operative Funeral Care, which has agreed a new 10-year lease at £15,000 per annum.

Other deals include the letting of 74 Dalry Road in Edinburgh to St Columbice Hospice; Soho Wealth and Blackhall Developments have both taken offices at Belgrave Business Centre on Frederick Street in Edinburgh, while One Stop IT and Fairgrieve & McClurg have concluded leases on office space at Devine Energy House in Loanhead.

IME’s growing reputation has also led it to being appointed by the UK’s leading serviced office operator, Citibase, to assist with the marketing of Gyleview House in West Edinburgh.

“Our ambition has always been to grow the business steadily, while maintaining our Edinburgh roots and provide a bespoke and first class service for our clients” added Mr Mercer.

In November, IME Property was shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Office Agency Team of the Year’ category at next year’s Scottish Property Awards being held in Glasgow.
