Grassmarket Community Project, member of Chamber wins Edinburgh Soup charity pitch
Local charity and Chamber member Grassmarket Community Project pitched against 3 other charities last night at the Capital’s exciting second ever ‘Edinburgh Soup’ Event.
The ‘soup’ is a crowdfunder social event pioneered from the U.S. in Scotland by Edinburgh Soup volunteers and enthusiasts Phil Bolger and Rob Peacock (pictured below with CEO of the Grassmarket Project and Chamber member Jonny Kinross – centre).
Money raised by the audience on the night who are treated to delicious soup and fantastic musical performances from live bands and musicians is pitched for by the charities and the audience vote for the charity they wish it to go to. The money raised at the event has, for the second time running, been matched funded by Rabbles Tours also a Chamber member .
The Grassmarket is delighted to have been selected this month and the £1040 will go to purchasing adapted IT training equipment for disabled and vulnerable adults. Members would be advised to look out for future Edinburgh Soup events which will grow and engage a whole new audience to social fundraising as a tool to supporting good causes, supporting local musicians and having a great night out!
