Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home Launches New Service
Local animal welfare charity, Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, have today announced the launch of a new service for dog owners in Edinburgh.
‘Paddocks by the Prom’ will enable members of the public to hire three of the seven outdoor secure paddocks and dog runs based at the charity’s Seafield site, to exercise their own dog in a safe environment.
The large paddock available for hire provides over an acre of grass covered land with professional agility equipment and can take up to six dogs. The small dog runs are 127 square meters with premium Astroturf and are ideal for up to three dogs. All the paddocks available for hire are right next to the Seafield Promenade with scenic sea views.
Jamie Simpson, Director of Operations said “We know how difficult it can be for dog owners to find a safe space to let their dog enjoy some off-lead time, and this is a particular problem when living in a city. Paddocks by the Prom will allow the public and professional dog walkers to give their dog(s) a secure place to run, play and train. The space may be particularly useful for owners who have nervous dogs or those without good recall.”
The paddocks are available to hire in 30 minute slots and all the profits made from this service will be directed back into Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home’s core work to rescue, reunite and rehome abandoned dogs and cats, supporting vulnerable pet owners and provide its community education programme.
The Home has released a promotional video to showcase ‘Paddocks by the Prom’ which can be viewed by visiting https://youtu.be/dVfV0KqjAmE. To find out more information or to book visit edch.org.uk/paddocks.
