Cullen Property adds new Contracts Managers to support growth amidst tighter regulations

Posted: 28th January 2020

Edinburgh residential property investment and lettings specialist Cullen Property marks the new year by appointing Mhairi Juska and Anthony Brown to its growing team of contracts and property managers.

Both Mhairi and Anthony join as contracts managers. Within an internal structure unique to Cullen Property, both will be working hand in hand with a dedicated property manager in a two-person team, servicing specific client property accounts.

Cullen Property Managing Director Steve Coyle said: “Offering both our landlord and our tenant clients excellent, personalised customer service remains our focus for 2020.

“To allow us to achieve this customer service promise we are growing our team and adding specific areas of expertise to broaden our skill base and offering.

“Mhairi has a vast amount of experience in business management, whilst Anthony has worked extensively in compliance management, both of which are areas that are key to Cullen Property’s future.”

The hires come during a time in which the property lettings and management industry has seen major changes to the way business is conducted. The recent transition to Private Residential Tenancies (PRT), allowing tenants to give only 28 days’ notice before leaving a rental property, has been the latest in a series of changes designed to improve the service of rental properties available to private tenants.

Contracts Manager Mhairi Juska said: “Cullen Property is growing rapidly, and I am excited to be part of this. I hope to bring a positive can-do attitude to the role, striving to provide tenants and landlords with great service. At the same time, I aim to bring new insights and ideas to the role which can hopefully benefit the wider team.”

Contracts Manager Anthony Brown said: “I am excited about delivering a high level of service and building strong professional relationships.

“Over the last few years I have seen a variety of complex changes within the lettings sector which can be tough to implement, especially for agents and landlords. However, it is important that we adhere to these regulations whilst keeping our landlords fully compliant and informed.”

Cullen Property restructured its teams in 2019 to be better able to implement changes following new legislation whilst being able to provide its clients with named contacts of staff looking after their specific property.

As well as standard property letting and management, the company specialises in HMO property investment and is one of Edinburgh’s leading student letting agents, currently managing circa 400 properties in Edinburgh including over 200 HMO properties. The Cullen Property team can source, acquire and transform a dated spacious Edinburgh property into a modern HMO licensed accommodation in prime city centre locations.
