FORTH 1 BREAKFAST SHOW SETS NEW RECORD WITH HIGHEST EVER SHARE OF BREAKFAST AUDIENCE

Clyde 1 and Forth 1 have seen significant growth in listener numbers with people increasingly turning to trusted local radio, according to the latest RAJAR figures which have just been released.

Forth 1 has also set a new record with Boogie in the Morning achieving the highest ever share of the breakfast audience since RAJAR records began. The show – which broadcasts across Edinburgh, Lothian, Fife and Falkirk – now has a 24.7% share,  a further increase on the previous quarter.

Both Clyde 1 and Forth 1 have reinforced their positions as the market leaders in their areas with the highly popular stations seeing continued growth in weekly listener numbers year on year.

Clyde 1 now reaches 585,000 weekly listeners – an increase of 44,000 on the same period in 2019 – while Forth 1 has grown 22,000 per week to 296,000.

Greatest Hits Radio, Scotland, home to Ewen Cameron In The Morning, has also seen a marked increase of 16,000 listeners per week (year on year), taking the total to 298,000.

The West Sound stations also had a strong set of results. West FM, West Sound Ayr, West Sound Dumfries combined, have grown by 14,000 weekly listeners from 175,000 to 189,000 since the same time last year.

Graham Bryce, managing director of Bauer Radio in Scotland, said: “These figures are testament to the hard work and commitment of our teams who work across these stations and everyone should be very proud of their achievements in significantly increasing listener numbers.

“Our presenters are always striving to provide engaging content which connects with our listeners, supported with a strong mix of music and entertainment, as well as local news, travel and sport, all of which are more important than ever at this time.”
