The Centre for Executive Engagement in Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, is dedicated to enhancing business productivity. Offering executive education courses across a wide range of management, operations and technical training, we offer a bespoke service to business. Embedded in practice and delivering actionable takeaways, we focus on productivity at the three levels, the organisational, the team and the individual, offering resilience support, leadership and change management training.

The Kuehne Foundation is one example of this bespoke approach. Working with Kuehne now for over five years, participants from Germany and Switzerland attend a two day course designed around Sales forecasting, Managing Business Performance and Lean Six sigma. A recent group in summer 2019 enjoyed a 2 day training session followed by an opportunity to enjoy the city.

Dedicated to delivering practical support to local and global businesses via our international campuses in Dubai and Malaysia, our expertise in inter cultural management and supporting global teams delivers a blended learning approach to training. Our courses are certified with additional bespoke mentoring if required. A recent delegate on our Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course provided feedback on how the course is helping from an organisation perspective:

‘At Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service, we have taken the tools from the yellow and green belt courses and implemented them into use through our Quality Management System documentation. We have run LSS awareness sessions for staff and initiated some projects with excellent engagement from staff. Staff are recognising that they can provide valuable input in improving our processes and we are seeing a change in culture as staff get involved.’

The Centre for Executive Engagement also delivers an Industry Lecture Series throughout the year, sharing best practice from across industry – our next event will be posted in the Edinburgh Chamber’s News section. We are delighted to be collaborating with the Chamber to enhance business skills, enable access to first class training facilities and support Scottish business’ growth.
