After a hugely successful five-month pilot, the Ocean Terminal Car Boot Sale is set to become a weekly fixture at the shopping centre during 2020.

Supporting the centre’s commitment to sustainability, the weekly market encourages consumers to recycle, reuse and upcycle.

Customers are encouraged to bag a bargain or perhaps find a hidden gem every Sunday from 7.30am to 12.30pm, on level F of the red car park (M&S side).

It’s not just savvy shoppers who have taken advantage of some of the deals available, the sale is proving popular among sellers too, with up to 100 attending each week.

From rare finds and antiques to clothing and everyday household items, the Ocean Terminal Car Boot Sale is the perfect opportunity to browse, find an unusual gift, or make yourself some extra money after Christmas.

Michelle MacLeod, Deputy Centre Manager, Ocean Terminal said:

“The Car Boot Sale has proved popular for both shoppers and sellers alike. As we all become more aware of the environment and our impact on it, more and more people are choosing to buy pre-loved goods, it’s great to see our community embracing this and we are grateful to Edinburgh City Council which has granted the license to trade for another year.

“We’re delighted to be able to continue to host the market for another 12 months and look forward to welcoming browsers and bargain hunters alike in 2020.”

The centre’s Subway store is supporting shoppers and sellers at the Car Boot Sale by introducing earlier opening hours opening from 6.30am on sale days. Providing those who attend the sale, whether buying, selling or browsing with the opportunity to purchase hot drinks and a bite to eat.
