Part night-walk, part cultural adventure, Maggie’s Culture Craw Edinburgh will see fundraisers take part in a twilight ten-mile walk around the city, discovering cultural, architectural and artistic delights along the way. The inaugural event in the Scottish capital builds on the success of Maggie’s Culture Crawl in London, which has now been running successfully for a decade.

Taking place on Friday 25 September 2015, Maggie’s Culture Crawl Edinburgh is being curated by the Scottish author Alexander McCall Smith, who plans to write a special short story which ties together all the venues visited on the route, from Fettes College to Maggie’s Edinburgh. These include Parliament Hall, the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and the Dovecot Studios.

Maggie’s is the official charity partner of Brodies LLP, Scotland’s largest law firm, which has raised more than £83,500 over the past eight years for Maggie’s through firm-wide fundraising events and charitable activities undertaken by staff.

Bill Drummond, Managing Partner of Brodies, said: “We’ve had great satisfaction – and fun – over the past 10 years or so helping Maggie’s raise funds for their terrific work and are delighted to be able to get behind this latest initiative. Everyone knows Edinburgh is full of cultural treasures and what better excuse for its citizens to get out there, visit or re-visit our historic environment and get behind some of the scenes we tend to take for granted than supporting Maggie’s.”
Registration for the event is £25 and participants are asked to raise a minimum of £100. A fundraising pack full of ideas to make sure each walker reaches their fundraising target is available from Maggie’s Centre Edinburgh or online.
