Blackadders to Host Mock Employment Tribunal Event
“Velvet’s Black Friday”
Velvet’s office Christmas party was a hoot! She enjoyed mulled wine, bucks fizz, some “traffic lights” and a few flaming sambucas. In the taxi home, she also enjoyed some Christmas cuddles with Andy.
Unfortunately Velvet was dismissed on Monday morning as a result of gross misconduct. Although Velvet explained to her employer that she had a very difficult relationship with alcohol and that Andy’s Christmas cuddles had not been unwanted, she was summarily dismissed.
• Was Velvet’s dismissal fair?
• Was Velvet’s behaviour within the course of employment?
• Is Velvet’s relationship with alcohol a disability under the Equality Act?
• Will Andy be giving her Christmas cuddles next year?…
Find out at Velvet’s employment tribunal hearing on 1 and 2 December. Employment Judge Sandy Meiklejohn presides. Simon Allison is representing Velvet. Jack Boyle is representing her employer.
This is sure to be a cracker of a case so come all ye faithful and join us.
