Barrhead Travel supports partners Down Under

Posted: 28th January 2020

Barrhead Travel invited customers to celebrate Australia Day with them during a weekend-long ‘Down Under’ campaign which raised over £850 for Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery as well as hosting activities to boost tourism amidst ongoing bushfire blaze.

Despite continuing devastation in several regions of the country, Australia united on the 26th January to celebrate ‘everything that’s great about being Australian.’ The Barrhead Travel network also came together to showcase the best itineraries in unaffected areas whilst fundraising for those that are.

A marketing campaign pack was rolled out to each branch fit with itineraries, in-store displays and an educational piece to highlight to customers all the country has to offer. Internal communications were also rolled out throughout the business with head office employees partaking in a ‘Dress Down Under’ day, donating to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery for their participation.

Barrhead Travel president, Jacqueline Dobson said:

“The devastation Australia has endured these past weeks is heart-breaking. We want to do what we can to help lift our partners at Tourism Australia by donating to help restore damage whilst protecting and building their status as a popular international tourism destination.

“Tourism plays a pivotal role in the Australian economy and the best way that we can support is to ensure our customers know that Australia is open for business and continue to send clients on the inspiring itineraries that this much-loved part of the world is famed for.”

Australia ranked in the top 10 Barrhead Travel Rising Star destinations for 2020, growing by nearly 20% in just one year.
