MacDuff x Heron Tasting Evening

MacDuff 1890, a top-quality Scottish meat producer, are very excited to be joining up with chefs Tomás and Sam of Heron restaurant to bring you a 4-course tasting evening with matched wines.

Heron is the first restaurant from chefs Sam Yorke and Tomás Gormley. Modern Scottish dishes, with a focus on seasonality and provenance, are put forward in an elegant and spacious dining room overlooking the Water of Leith on The Shore in Edinburgh. Front of House is spearheaded by restaurant manager Glen Montgomery, whose distinguished CV includes Restaurant Andrew Fairlie and the Balmoral Hotel. With a career also as a sommelier, his ability to match wines to dishes is second to none while his professional yet unstuffy approach contributes to the relaxed ambience of the dining room.

MacDuff will be supplying their seasonal grass-fed, organic mutton (meat of a sheep over 2 years) for the evening which Tomas and Sam have beautifully curated the menu around. On the night you will get the chance to learn about the provenance of the mutton you’ll be tasting and also have the chance to meet the producers and farmers too.

The mutton will be provided from Westerlogie Farm (also known as ‘Fife Dexters’) and is a 100% grass-fed, organic certified farm in North East Fife. MacDuff have worked with Westerlogie farm for a few years now and only work with farms where the sustainability and animal welfare is at the heart.
