Miller Homes helps fund new Dunfermline hockey festival
Miller Homes is helping Dunfermline Carnegie Hockey Club get local children involved in hockey with a £500 donation towards the Club’s impressive youth programme.
Development Sales Manager, Charlotte McLinton was joined by the players from Dunfermline Carnegie Hockey Club at Miller Homes’ new Lapwing Brae ‘Fletcher’ showhome, as they shared plans for the future.
The hockey club, whose home pitch is at Woodmill High School, hopes to get more children excited about the sport through a hockey festival in 2021, involving seven local high schools, West Fife Sports Council and Fife Active Schools.
Calum Wood, Under 15 Boys Youth Coach at Dunfermline Carnegie Hockey Club said: “We’re delighted by the financial contribution from Miller Homes and really appreciate them helping out our community club. The donation will be put towards funding our new hockey festival next year, which we hope is going to really inspire more kids to get involved.
“When it comes to our community’s mental and physical wellbeing, youth sport is more important than ever. The support from Miller Homes will enable our club to keep helping local children get active and enjoy the benefits of hockey.”
Neil Gaffney, Sales and Marketing Director for Miller Homes said: “We’re delighted to support Dunfermline Carnegie Hockey Club with this donation and see the great work they’re doing to support children’s health and wellbeing. Dunfermline already has wonderful sporting facilities so it’s great to see the hockey club getting the next generation excited about sport and we look forward to hearing about the festival.”
