Ever fancied being a fly on the wall at an employment tribunal hearing? Now is your chance!
Kasia, an employee of Millars’ Mince Company has lodged a claim on the basis of discrimination after seeing ill-judged Facebook post shared by colleague Donna. Donna’s post said “Vegans are new-age travellers. Share if you want this fad to be over” and included a picture of a woman hugging a tree. As a Vegan, Kasia is outraged and has lodged a claim for discrimination against Millars’ Mince Company.
Does being a vegan amount to a protected characteristic?
Can Millars’ Mince be held liable for Donna’s post?
Will Kasia’s claim be successful at tribunal?
