CONTRIBUTE TO QUEEN MARGARET UNIVERSITY’S SUCCESS – APPOINTMENT OF LAY COURT MEMBERS
Queen Margaret University (QMU), Edinburgh, is in an exciting phase of its strategic development. In support of that development, the University Court is seeking to appoint to vacancies in its lay membership.
Committed Court members are critical to the University’s success. Court appointments take account of personal and professional skills and experience in the context of the overall composition of the Court. Currently, QMU is particularly interested to hear from individuals who have specific expertise in finance or who have a strong background in estates development and/or planning, particularly if this expertise has contributed to success within a higher education context (desirable but not essential).
Applicants with other specialist knowledge are welcome to apply. They will have a strong, personal commitment to Higher Education, its governance and the values, aims and objectives of Queen Margaret University.
QMU is seeking individuals with experience of operating at strategic or board level, or who are able to demonstrate a track record of success in professional areas of expertise. Consideration will be given also to individuals who demonstrate the capacity to develop the required knowledge once they are in the role. QMU is committed to ensuring that its Court represents the staff, students and community it serves. Applications are welcomed particularly from women, disabled people, ethnic minorities and applicants who would further enhance the diversity of the Court.
Further information about the role of Court members and the application process, visit www.qmu.ac.uk/court/court-vacancies.htm or email, Irene Hynd, University Secretary, E: ihynd@qmu.ac.uk
The closing date for applications is Friday 13th January 2017.
