5 things to consider when choosing your exhibition giveaways for the New Year

Posted: 6th December 2019

If you’re looking for the perfect exhibition or conference giveaway for your upcoming event calendar, then this is the blog for you. We’ve pulled together 5 factors to consider ensuring you’re making the most of the opportunity to enhance your brand.

The name of the game is making sure that your clients and prospects remember you after they’ve packed their bags and headed back to the office. Innovative and useful branded merchandise is key to keeping your brand at the forefront of their minds. After all, there’s no point in spending a chunk of your marketing budget on conferences and events if a week later your prospects don’t remember your name.

With more than 40 years’ experience in the business, at Streamline we reckon we’ve perfected the art of the giveaway. We’ve found that the best way to ensure you’re remembered is through bold, innovative branded merchandise.

  1. Branded merchandise is a must-have not a can-have

The first rule of event giveaways is that they’re a must-have not a can-have. You can’t expect your contacts to remember you in a room full of potential suppliers if you don’t give them something to jog their memory. A giveaway means they have something with your logo, contact details and URL to hand. It’s a no-brainer really!

  1. Choose something bold

Pens, while useful and great as part of a bigger suite of branded merchandise, are not going to set the world alight. Pick your branded giveaways carefully and you’ll ensure you’re not going to be forgotten in a hurry. Choose something with a great story, like socks made from recycled fishing nets? Or how about a branded notebook made from the waste coffee grounds from a cup of coffee?

  1. Accuracy is key

It sounds a little obvious, but you’ll be surprised how easy it is to get caught up in the bigger picture and miss the smaller details. Are your contact details correct? Is your URL accurate? Sometimes we even forget the call to action- does your target know how to contact you after they’ve left?

  1. Old tat is old hat

Make sure your branded swag bag is more than just swag, don’t spend your hard-earned marketing budget on promotional items that end up straight in the bin. With a reusable and sustainable option, like a branded thermal bottle or a branded bamboo coffee cup you’ll ensure your prospects are keeping your brand to hand, every day. Cheap plastic branded merchandise is a thing of the past and the options have never been better.

  1. Give people a choice

Have a range of promotional items at your stand and give people a choice. When you involve people in the choice, they’re even more likely to remember you and your business.
