Edinburgh Marathon Festival, Run with Maggie’s in 2016

Posted: 25th January 2016

General entries for the full Edinburgh Marathon closed at the beginning of January, but there is still time to sign up for a place with Team Maggie’s.

As one of the Top Five Affiliated Charities, Maggie’s has places available for all race distances at Edinburgh Marathon Festival (28 – 29th May), including junior races, 5k, 10k, team relay, half and full marathon.

By running for Maggie’s you will benefit from instant entry and a reduced registration fee. Maggie’s asks you to raise between £50 and £500, depending on how far you are running, to help make a difference to people affected by cancer.

In return, Maggie’s will support you every step of the way. You will get a running vest, an invitation to a training day, a dedicated team to help with your fundraising, huge cheers of support on race day and post-race refreshments.

Every penny you raise will be used to help Maggie’s to make as big a difference as possible to people affected by cancer: £50 pays for an exercise class for ten people to help build strength and confidence during and after cancer treatment; £300 pays for a professional Cancer Support Specialist to provide immediate advice and support for the one hundred visits welcomed at a Centre each day; £500 pays for 50 beanie hats for people attending Talking Heads, a workshop offering advice and support to cope with hair loss.
