Workshop Content

Our workshops, delivered in partnership with our delivery partner, Elevator and will cover:

  • In the first workshop, businesses will gain a clear understanding of how international trade works, who is involved, and the key steps in exporting. Participants will explore global opportunities using market research techniques, begin identifying viable target markets, and learn how to estimate their costs and set profitable retail prices.
  • The second workshop focuses on routes to market, including setting up ecommerce webstores, using online marketplaces, and working with overseas agents or distributors. Legal and practical considerations such as trademarks, EORI registration, product compliance, Incoterms, and payment terms will be covered.
  • In the third workshop, businesses will deepen their understanding of international shipping, export documentation, and tax implications. Key topics include freight options, customs declarations, and certificates of origin. Each participant will then complete a structured 1–2-page export plan covering market selection, chosen sales route and pricing strategy.

The workshops will take place from 9.30am-2.30pm (subject to change) at the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce office on 63 George Street.

We encourage in person attendance however virtual is an option for those unable to join us at our venue.
