Westlife star Kian Egan catches waves at Lost Shore ahead of worldwide tour

Westlife star Kian Egan swapped the stage for the surf this summer, enjoying a family getaway at Scotland’s Lost Shore Surf Resort ahead of the band’s upcoming worldwide anniversary tour, which includes Scottish dates at Aberdeen’s P&J Live and Glasgow’s OVO Hydro. 

The singer, broadcaster and keen surfer visited Europe’s largest inland surf destination with his wife, Jodi Albert, and their three sons, spending several days surfing, relaxing and making the most of the resort’s waterfront accommodation and facilities.

For the Egan family, surfing is more than a hobby. Long-time surfing enthusiasts, the family regularly spend time in the water together, with eldest son Koa also competing in surf events. During their stay at Lost Shore, the family enjoyed a range of wave settings designed to cater for different ages, abilities and confidence levels.

Kian Egan said: “Surfing is a huge part of our family life, so whenever we get the opportunity to spend time together in the water, we jump at it.

“With a busy period ahead as we prepare for the tour, spending a few days surfing together as a family was the perfect way to switch off and recharge.

“We’d heard fantastic things about Lost Shore and it completely exceeded our expectations. The wave quality is incredible, the facilities are first class and what really stood out was how accessible it is for everyone, regardless of experience.

“We had an amazing time as a family and made some fantastic memories. It’s a special place and we’ll definitely be back.”
