Volunteers wanted for Careers Hive Live+Online 2021
Careers Hive Live+Online is an interactive introduction to the world of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) based careers. It is designed to provide students in S1-S3 with a new way of thinking about their futures. This live immersive event allows participants to understand all the career opportunities available to them when choosing STEM subjects.
Students are invited to take part in a series of interactive events and workshops, allowing them to hear from inspirational early-career STEM professionals, speak directly with a variety of people working in the STEM industries and explore their own skills and strengths.
What does a Careers Hive volunteer do?
There are two main activities that our volunteers will be involved with:
Meet the professional – Chat to students about what you love about your job, how you got there and your future industry predictions. Break the ice and engage over some fun interactive STEM activities.
Think Tank – Participate in lightning meetings where small groups of young people will have five minutes to ask you some fast-paced career questions.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly volunteers currently working in any STEM field to share their experience. We’re particularly interested in hearing from you if you got to where you are via non-traditional routes, or if your job is in a sector which is usually heavily represented by members of the opposite sex.
