Visitors to Edinburgh offered free tours for collecting litter this weekend

Posted: 28th September 2016

SANDEMANs NEW Europe, the worlds largest walking tour provider, is encouraging visitors to keep Edinburgh beautiful by collecting litter around the Royal Mile this Saturday, October 1st between 5pm and 6pm.

To say thank you, SANDEMANs will offer all participants a free ticket to either their Dark Side tour or Pub Crawl this weekend.  There will also be a free beer or soft drink for all participants at Pilgrim Bar immediately following the clean up.

SANDEMANs NEW Europe CEO David O’Kelly says, “We have been operating in Edinburgh for over 10 years now, and we know visitors love this city as much as we do.  With this event, we are aiming to help them give back to the city, but also to nurture a genuine commitment to sustainable tourism for our guests not only here, but in the other 17 cities we operate in as well.”

In partnership with Visit Scotland and the Edinburgh City Council, registration will take place at the usual SANDEMANs start point outside Starbucks on the Royal Mile at 4:45pm.  Guests will be supplied with litter pickers, gloves and bin bags, as well as a health and safety talk before the clean up gets underway.

Guests can register either during the daily SANDEMANs walking tour, or by signing up for either of these Special Event free Pub Crawl or Dark Side tour at the website www.newedinburghtours.com.  Locals are of course welcome too.
