Posted: 24th March 2016

Link is a group of 8 social enterprise companies which provide a wide range of services in 26 local authority areas in Scotland. We have more than 15,000 customers and have ambitious plans to make more of our services available to people who need them most.

We are looking to add to the range of skills and experience on the following boards:

  • Link Group Ltd. (parent company)
  • Link Property (providing in-house maintenance services tocustomers)
  • Larkfield Housing Association (based in Greenock, focusing on housing services in Inverclyde)
  • West Highland Housing Association (based in Oban, focusing on housing services in Lorn and the Inner Hebridean Islands)

What’s in it for you?

You’ll be presented with interesting, and (at times complex) issues to consider and help navigate a path through, while staying true to Link’s values.  You’ll also have the opportunity to influence Link’s strategic direction and to help drive our ambition to grow and improve our services. You’ll be working with like-minded, experienced and committed colleagues to achieve our plans whilst keeping people at the heart of everything we do.  As a board member of one of Scotland’s most successful social enterprises, you will gain valuable decision-making experience.  Our board members volunteer their time to prepare for and attend regular meetings, training and information events.  Reasonable expenses are reimbursed.

What are we looking for?

We want to work with people who share our determination to help others and to develop our business. We are keen that you have experience of receiving or delivering services similar to those we offer, or that you have experience which can bring new thinking to our approach. We intend our boards to reflect our diverse population and welcome interest from all sectors of our communities.

Specific areas of knowledge, skills and experience we are looking for include:

  • Architecture and design
  • Asset Management
  • Finance and banking
  • Financial Management
  • Maintenance
  • Property Development
  • Leadership
  • Legal
