Turnberry Spa transformation brings news luxury dimension into full view

Posted: 17th June 2021

The exquisite new Turnberry Spa has unveiled a new level of five-star opulence as part of the resort’s continued multi-million pound transformation.

The Spa interior has been reinvigorated following an extensive 18-month restoration with guests able to take full advantage of the additional luxuries and a new range of treatments on offer, designed to revitalise both body and mind.

But at the heart of the Spa is a 65-foot, heated indoor swimming pool, from which you can gaze at those incredible views across the famous Championship links, Ailsa Craig and beyond to the Isle of Arran.

Among the new additions, a completely new poolside ocean-view bio-sauna with a floor to ceiling vista, ladies and gents relax saunas and steam rooms, experience showers and ice fountains which have further enhanced what was already an idyllic place to unwind and relax in five-star luxury.

Also adding to the experience is the new range of ESPA Modern Alchemy treatments – not available anywhere else in Scotland – which bring ESPA’s holistic wellness philosophy and offer a comprehensive selection of body wraps, body scrubs and massages, including Hot Stone therapy, hydrotherapy, reflexology and aromatherapy.

A wide variety of choices are available including the PATH | MOON | PEACE treatment, which is described as a deeply meditative journey and is defined by the fluid circularity of its massage movements.

Beginning with a foot bathing ceremony using healing basalt magma stones, feet are gently cleansed with Grounding Crystals while Anointing Oil is smoothed on to your hands in slow circles, softening the skin. Using the curvature of the Kansa wand — a time-honoured Indian tool believed to calm the nervous system — a hypnotic rhythm is created to bring peace to your mind. The purifying scent of sage signals the end of your journey, slowly bringing your awareness back to your surroundings leaving you feeling blissfully relaxed and liberated.

Aside from the tranquil relaxation, the spiritual element adds an important aspect for those looking to maintain the positive balance between body and mind.

For those eager to achieve a healthy glow, Turnberry also boasts the innovative ishga range of organic Scottish seaweed skincare products. The anti-ageing properties of the finest hand-picked seaweed from the Scottish Hebrides have been harnessed to create an organic skincare range for massages, body wraps and facial treatments.

Ralph Porciani, general manager at Turnberry, said: “The newly-restored Turnberry Spa has been completed to the highest possible standards and now provides an even better experience for our guests to enjoy some well-deserved five-star relaxation.”
