Overview
This workshop covers the basics and essentials of effective communication within a business and place of work context.  We cover both verbal and written communication styles. 

Learn how to manage your anxiety and nerves when having to speak up in meetings.  Understand how to adopt and use appropriate styles and language in a business environment.

How to construct and respond to business emails will be covered during this session. You will see examples of good and not so good emails and when and how to use CC, BCC and Forwarding functions.  The final part of this workshop focuses on other forms of business written communication including reports and summaries. 

Who should attend
Being a confident communicator, via written, verbal, face-to-face or digital channels, is an essential core skill of working life.  Those moving into the world of work, transitioning from School, College, and University or after a period of unemployment will gain value from this workshop.

  • Understanding the importance of effective communication skills at work
  • The communication process, and the importance of “feedback”
  • How to speak clearly and concisely at Meetings to get your key messages across
  • Managing nerves and anxiety during face to face communication
  • The differences between online (video conferencing) and in-person meetings and how to adjust your communication styles for each environment
  • Written communication styles and use of language for business emails, letters, reports and other forms of business writing
