@ Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Delivered Online Midlothian

29th July, 2020 09:30-12:30 Training 95.00-115.00
Great leadership skills are crucial and most helpful when navigating times of great ambiguity, uncertainty and challenge, all of which seem to be more and more present in our day-to-day working lives as we emerge from covid-19 lockdown.
More than ever, staying focused on your priorities and the future you want to create is key. The words leadership and management are often used in the same sentence but what is the difference? Understanding how you maybe limiting yourself at present by not working in leader mode is key to emerging successfully from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The course will help you make sense of what leadership is, help you develop your personal leadership approach and how you can apply it in your day-to-day practice. You will be encouraged to learn what it is like to be on the receiving end of you.
Course Outcomes:
  • A greater awareness on how to stay focused on your priorities and the future you want to create.
  • Understand how you may be limiting yourself at present by not working at the right level.
  • A better understanding of the different operating modes and what takes you into operator and manager mode.
  • Be better at spending more time in ‘playing to win’ mode.
  • Greater awareness of how you can best add value to your organisation/ business.
Course outline:
The online workshop is designed to be interactive, blending leadership theory with practical day-to-day examples and participant contributions and group discussions. It will utilise all the best online tools including breakout rooms and polls.

It explores the impact of your operating mode on both you and your team. It will help you get clarity on what is important to you, your priorities and how to stay focused on them. It will review how much time you spend focused on the past, the present and the future and how you maybe limiting yourself at present. It will explore how you can be at your best, ‘playing to win’ more of the time and what triggers you to go into ‘just surviving mode’. Finally, it will discuss the correlation between your operating mode and what you and your people achieve.
