Overview
Whether you are new to charity fundraising or wanting to develop existing skills, a volunteer or CEO, a large or small charity then this workshop is for you. Designed and delivered by an experienced fundraiser who has worked on everything from local events to million-pound campaigns, your course content is based on real experiences. You’ll find out how to pitch your cause, manage volunteers and local support groups, maximise income from participation in national events, design campaigns and work with corporate partners, generate relationships with patrons, celebrity and royalty and raise awareness through traditional, broadcast and social media.

Course Director: Mark Mackenzie-Smith

Course Director Bio:
This workshop is designed and delivered by Mark who will share his wealth of charity experience with you. He has worked with lots of charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, Muscular Dystrophy, The Salvation Army, Children 1st, Barnardo’s and many more and is currently Deputy CEO of Bright Light, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Held in Our Hearts and Volunteer Chair of Young Enterprise Lothian. He is a speaker and puppy trainer for Guide Dogs and he and his family have personally raised thousands of pounds for charities by taking part in fundraising events. Mark will use his real-life experiences to help you develop your fundraising skills, from the challenging ‘how to ask for money’ to getting others to raise money for you. He has worked on million-pound campaigns with high-net-worth individuals, business leaders, celebrities and members of the Royal Family, in fact there’s very little he’s not done when it comes to charity fundraising.
