This half day session will provide Managers with the basic information you need to know about HR which well help you to manage your people well and avoid any issues further down the line.

Course Outcomes:
 

You will leave this course with:
 
  • the key HR processes your organisation needs to manage your people
  • the main types of issues you may come across when dealing with employees
  • useful information and techniques to ensure you avoid making unnecessary mistakes
  • Understanding the implications of getting these things wrong, including loss of performance and potentially Employment Tribunal claims.
  • Confidence on how to take action to deal with people issues on time and to avoid them arising in the first place.

The format of the course will be a tutor led experience with the opportunity for interaction from attendees and the main topics covered will include:
  • The importance of your staff handbook and employment contracts;
  • How to apply policies and use your staff handbook;
  • Recruiting for success;
  • Managing poor performance and behaviours
  • The disciplinary procedure
  • When staff raise a grievance
  • How to manage short term and long term absence
  • Creating the right working environment
