This highly interactive half day training course will take an in depth look at International Commercial Terms (Incoterms 2010). An Incoterm should be included in any International Trade Contract or quotation .
 
Course Outcomes

Delegates will leave this course understanding:
  • The International Trade Transaction (ITT)
  • The 11 Incoterms (2010) which are in common useand the impact they have on both buyer and seller's obligations during the ITT
  • Who is at risk (seller or buyer) at specific points during the movement of goods from seller to the buyer's agreed delivery point
  • The importance of the use of Incoterms as regards maximising the sellers profit from an export sale
Course Outline
  • The course will examine in detail the International Trade Transaction (ITT) (what in involved in terms of Documents,Transportation, Customs Procedures, Payment options and Overseas Import Legislation when moving goods to Overseas destinations)
  • The course will look at the 11 Incoterms (2010) . Each term will be explained as regards the sellers various obligations within the ITT and the specific transferof risk points from seller to buyer which apply .
  • Sources of information as regards Overseas Import Legislation and requirements will be highlighted
The important role Incoterms (2010) plays in enabling the exporter to calculate an accurate export price will be explained
 
Trainer Profile

The course will be delivered by Ken Lofthouse. Ken has been involved in International Trade Training for over 15 years . During that time he has delivered training on behalf of Scottish Enterprise, British Chambers of Commerce, Scottish Chambers of Commerce, The European Union (Eastern Europe projects) and many Blue Chip private companies.
 
Prior to moving into training Ken worked for 25 years as a Senior International Trade Manager with the Diageo Spirits Group. Ken is a member of the Institute of Export.
