This highly interactive one day training course will look at the considerable array of Export documents which may be required to be produced or obtained by the exporter.

Course Outcomes
 
Delegates will leave this course understanding:
The International Trade transaction (ITT) and the important role that documents play with in it
The impact of Incoterms (2010 ) as regards who ( seller or buyer ) is responsible for producing / obtaining the required documents .
The specific Commercial Documents ,Transport Documents and Official Documents along with the purpose , cost and who produces them .
Costs and procedures involved in obtaining Official documents
Sources of information as regards Overseas Customs documentation and procedural legislation

Course Outline
  
The course will explain;
  • The International Trade Transaction (ITT ) (the processs of moving product from seller to buyers agreed delivery point) and the importance of documents during this process
  • The commercial, transportation and official documents in common use and their specific role will be explained
  • The costs of many Official documents and the procedures required to obtain them will be explored
  • The impact of Incoterm (2010) upon seller and buyers obligations as regards obtaining documents will be investigated
  • Overseas customs legislation in terms of documentation and procedures will be explained
Afternoon 
Working in teams against specific information provided delegates will be requested to produce the necessary documentation required

Trainer Profile

The course will be delivered by Ken Lofthouse. Ken has been involved in International Trade Training for over 15 years. During that time he has delivered training on behalf of Scottish Enterprise, British Chambers of Commerce, Scottish Chambers of Commerce, The European Union (Eastern Europe projects) and many Blue Chip private companies.
 
Prior to moving into training Ken worked for 25 years as a Senior International Trade Manager with the Diageo Spirits Group. Ken is also a member of the Institute of Export.
