Thorntons shortlisted as legal firm of the year

SLA 17 Finalist LogoLeading Scottish law firm Thorntons has been nominated as a contender for Firm of the Year at the prestigious Scottish Legal Awards 2017.

The Scottish Legal Awards is now its 14th year and aims to celebrate the legal industry in Scotland. This year, the list of categories has been revamped and has seen the highest ever number of nominations.

In the Firm of the Year category, Thorntons is nominated alongside Clyde & Co, MacRoberts, Harper Macleod, Gillespie Macandrew and DLA Piper.

Craig Nicol, joint Managing Partner at Thorntons, said: “It is an honour to be shortlisted for this prestigious award alongside some great Scottish firms.

“We have completed various strategic mergers and investments in recent years which have contributed to the growth of our footprint in Scotland.  Expansion in Edinburgh and Fife in particular has been a significant area of focus.  Our priority however is always to deliver exceptional advice and service to our many clients.

Winners will be announced at the 14th Annual Scott + Co Scottish Legal Awards Ceremony which will take place on Thursday 30 March 2017 at The Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh.

Thorntons which is headquartered in Dundee has 10 offices across Scotland and is one of the largest full service firms in the country. It was awarded the title of Scotland’s Best Employer in September 2016 and is one of the top 100 firms in the UK as listed by The Lawyer.
