The Shackleton Polar Academy Event
Turning Young Adults into Role Models for the Next Generation
Are you a secondary school looking to offer an exciting challenge for your young people?
Are you a business leader interested in giving something back to your community?
Do you want to hear how young people inspire their peers and develop into leaders of the future?
If you identify with any of these statements, then this event is for you.
This is an opportunity for local secondary schools and businesses to hear more about the Scottish charity, The Polar Academy. Founded by Craig Mathieson, Scotland’s greatest living polar explorer, the Polar Academy is described as “the toughest youth challenge in Europe”. Craig and his team’s mission is to transform the life-chances of ‘invisible’ youths in schools in Scotland, resulting in them becoming role models for the next generation.
Join us at Discovery Point to hear more about their Arctic adventures. Find out how the young people involved overcame the physical and mental challenges, developing more self-belief during the process, which has transformed their young lives.
Registration and refreshments from 5.00 pm.
