The Best Steak and Chips in the UK for £10

Posted: 28th July 2020

Admittedly, there may be *a little* subjectivity in that statement.  What isn’t up for debate is the price. As part of the Eat Out to Help Out government scheme to help restaurants get back on their feet, Hawksmoor diners will be able to get The Best Steak and Chips in the UK for just £10.

Will and Huw, the founders of Hawksmoor, may be showing a bit of bias in claiming their steak The Best, but it is well justified. Over the past 15 years, the team at Hawksmoor has worked with farmers to get their hands on a consistent supply of top-shelf beef from cattle that have been ethically reared in this country. It is their belief that animal welfare, sustainable farming and support of independent farming aren’t just the right things to do, but also as close as you can get to a guarantee of great tasting steaks.

To that end, Hawksmoor has taken 300g of 35-day dry-aged rump steak, added chips and a sauce, all of which would usually cost about £30 and reduced it to £20.  Hawksmoor has also enrolled for the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, which means that everyone who orders it will get 50% off.

The Best Steak and Chips in the UK for £10 is available Monday to Wednesday throughout August at all Hawksmoor restaurants that are open.

The Eat Out to Help Out discount (50% off food up to £10) is also available on the full menu (so you could have cut-price chateaubriand or lobster instead).  £5 corkage also continues every Monday … The Best Steak and Chips in the UK and a bottle of great wine for £15?!

For more information about Hawksmoor’s ‘Covid-secure’ measures please see website here or read the government’s case study of Hawksmoor as a model Covid-secure restaurant here.

Hawksmoor restaurants open now: Borough, Manchester, Seven Dials and Spitalfields

Upcoming August openings: Air Street, Thursday, 30th July and Edinburgh, 6th August
