The £7,500 Opportunity Many Scottish SMEs Don’t Realise They’re Eligible For
Every business leader knows the value of stepping back to work on the business rather than simply in it.
The challenge is finding the time and the budget.
The UK Government’s Help to Grow: Management programme, delivered in Scotland by Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University, offers both.
Designed specifically for leaders of small and medium-sized businesses, the 12-week programme helps business owners and senior managers strengthen their leadership, sharpen their strategy and build the skills needed to drive sustainable growth.
Scottish SMEs have the opportunity to access a programme worth £7,500. A number of bursaries are available for Scottish participants, meaning eligible businesses can access the programme at no cost.
Participants explore key business topics including leadership, strategy, innovation, marketing, operations and finance through a blend of online learning, interactive workshops and one-to-one mentoring. Alongside expert faculty, they also become part of a trusted peer network of SME leaders, sharing ideas, experiences and practical solutions to common business challenges.
The programme includes:
- Twelve practical leadership modules.
- Eight live online learning sessions.
- Four face-to-face workshops at Heriot-Watt University’s Riccarton campus.
- Ten hours of one-to-one mentoring from experienced business leaders.
- A valuable peer network of ambitious SME owners and senior managers.
- Complimentary accommodation where required for on-campus workshops.
- A networking lunch at the face-to-face modules
To be eligible, businesses must:
- Employ between 5 and 249 people
- Have been trading for at least one year.
- Be a commercial business.
